Homework

Classwork

Test and Projects

Classwork - Every student is expected to participate in the classroom activities.  This includes, but is not limited to, paying attention, answering questions, taking notes, completing classroom assignments and turning them in, etc. Classwork includes a Daily Question (DQ) that will be done at the beginning of class each day.  All DQs will be posted in your Canvas ELA page. Any classwork not completed in class is to be finished at home before the next day.

Homework will be assigned.  Homework is NOT a punishment or busy work, but is a chance to master skills and information that will be learned in class.  Therefore, it is my expectation that all homework is to be completed ON TIME.  This is an extension of Classwork.  You should also be reading daily.  Find a book you like, read it!  Reading for 20 minutes a day will help you  make huge gains throughout this year.

Quizzes will be given periodically throughout the grading period.  They will not always be announced, so be prepared every day.

Tests/Projects will be given periodically.  A test will be announced several days in advance.  There will also be projects assigned throughout the grading period.  Information on project guidelines and due dates will be given in class.  Projects should always show maximum effort, as plenty of time will be allotted for the completion of each.
